Specialty floor in our garage

 Hello Friends,

Today I wanted to share some pictures from our recent 3rd car garage floor improvement.  My husband has some content coming up soon on his new YouTube channel.  I wasn't sure if I really wanted a treated floor in our garage, but I knew it was important to him.  One was cost, two was, is this going to even last?  Especially when I saw the flakes that were thrown down, etc.

I really like the look and I think long term the durability will be fantastic.

Have you ever done a treatment like this on your garage floor or anywhere else (i.e., craft room)?

What's up with the wine room?

In a prior post I mentioned we wanted to turn one of the "rooms" in our basement in to a wine room.  Right now the only work we have done in that area is dry wall.  The wine room will be a "work in progress", but right now our attention is on my husband's gun room and office and my craftroom.

I watched a recent episode of "Brother vs. Brother" on HGTV (don't you just love them!) and was so inspired by a barrel ceiling that Jonathan did in his makeover home.  I really want to do something like this in our wine room.  I'm really looking to achieve a very vintage, old world looking wine room.  We did buy a wood door with a glass pane in it, which I would love to etch our last name initial on it.

I was looking at various websites for brick veneer and found this one Zenbuild.com

This are two of my inspiration pics from Houzz.com in my Ideabook.

I think this one is a good mix of aged looking brick.  This is the part where you're dreaming and planning and I really enjoy this process.

This is the entrance to our future wine room.  I want to put an arch just before this hallway entering it.

Update on my craft room

Hello Friends,

Well my craft room is coming along.  I have been having a lot of fun perusing inspiring pics on Houzz.com; I love that website!  I showed my inspiration pic in my last blog post.  I decided to go with Sherwin Williams Begonia.  I just love it.

I recently ordered my sconces. I didn't go with the black and gold ones that were in my previous post, but went with all brass.  I bought these from Amazon.com.  I think they'll add just that right touch I was looking for.

Next is finishing out the long wall where the sconces will go with an accent paint, I am thinking Sherwin Williams Hopeful, installing the sconces and moulding.  I have been going back and forth on flooring, but I think that will be the next big purchase for our basement renovation.

I would love any feedback.  I'd love to see your craft room also, if you have one!

Thanks for visiting.

Craft Room Update

Things are coming along in my craft room and renovation of half of our basement.  I'm really excited to get painting and organizing all my craft materials.  I love the inspiration colors I've chosen, but not committed yet, I may "tweak" the colors a little.   I also included an inspiration pic I have really loved for a few years now - I love the teal ceiling and the moulding.  I most likely will not do the moulding, but you never know.

Let me know of any recommendations you may have for organizing and thoughts on painting a ceiling the darker color.

Below is my "board" for materials I may use in my craftroom.

CRAFT ROOM UPDATE

We are finally getting around to finishing our basement.  The exciting part is, is that I get a craft room space of my own!

I'll keep posting pics of the progress.  Drywall started going up today, so expect pics tomorrow.
